Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines when it’s safe to do so. At this time, we’d like to inform you of a number of topics pertinent to your care at Rise + Smile Orthodontics.
Re-opening and Re-scheduling
Will begin seeing patients for regular appointments beginning May 11th, 2020. At this time, we are currently rescheduling all cancelled appointments. We kindly ask for your patience in this process as we want to ensure those patients who have been waiting the longest have the first opportunity to reschedule. Please wait for our office to contact you to reschedule. We will be contacting patients in waves primarily based on when previously cancelled appointments were originally scheduled.
Prior to Arrival
In order to prepare for the appointment, we please ask that you do the following:
- Within 24 hours prior to the appointment, please take the patient’s temperature at home.
- Please call and reschedule if you, your child, or anyone else who you’ve had recent close contact with have had any of the following:
- A fever (defined as above 100.4 degrees)
- A cough
- Shortness of breath and/or persistent pain, pressure, or tightness in the chest
- Close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19
- Please have the patient brush his/her teeth just prior to the appointment as our brushing station is closed.
Virtual Waiting Room
In order to limit the number of people in the office at one time, we will be using a virtual waiting room. When you arrive to the office for your appointment, please stay in your car and text the patient’s name to 512-892-1188. When we are ready to seat the patient, we will text you back and the patient can then come into the office.
At the Appointment
We kindly request that patients enter the office by themselves when possible. In the case of younger children, a single parent may accompany the child. Anyone entering the office must wear a face covering of some type.
Upon entry, all patients will be asked to use provided hand sanitizer, as well as an oxidizing mouth rinse. While we’ll be able to perform most procedures as normal, there may be a few adjustments needed to reduce the risk of aerosols in the office. We will also be operating at a reduced schedule in order to limit the number of patients in the office at one time.
When the appointment is finished, if the patient is unable to schedule their appointment themselves, then our front desk will immediately call to schedule the next appointment. Lastly, Dr. Mathue will leave a voicemail updating parents on patient progress.
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. In addition to the processes mentioned in this email to this point, we are making some smaller changes to the office in order to minimize risk such as HEPA filter air purifiers, increased wear of personal protective equipment, plexiglass barriers, removal of all communal items, temperature screening on all staff and patients, and a reduced schedule so that patients can maintain social distancing while being treated.
If you are interested in a virtual exam, please call the office at 512-892-1188, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Virtual exams are a conventient way to discuss your orthodontic needs during this time. Dr. Mathue is able to answer most questions virtually, and our office can then give you an estimate on treatment.
Thank you for being part of our Rise + Smile family. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.
